Baptism

1. To follow the example set by Christ. (Mark 1:9) 2. Because Christ commands it. (Matt. 28:19-20, Mark 16:16) 3. It is connected to God's promise of the forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:38) 4. It unites us to Christ's death and resurrection for us. (Rom. 6:3-8, Col. 2:9-15)

1. Because Jesus was baptized that way. (Matt. 3:16) 2. The word "baptize" means to plunge under water. 3. Every baptism in the Bible was by immersion. (Acts 8:38-39) 4. It best symbolizes a burial and resurrection. (Rom. 6:3-5)

Every person who has believed in Christ. (Acts 2:38, Acts 2:41, Acts 8:12). At FACC, we wait until our children are old enough to believe and understand the true meaning of baptism before we baptize them.
